Add to Your SMARTS Project from Home! In the SMARTS Fantasy Ceramics class everyone was building a world using clay, glaze and other materials. For the time being here are a few ideas of things you can work on to add to your creation: 1) Create a cardboard diorama to put your sculpture into at a later time. You can alter the cardboard in any way, using paint, markers, pencils, etc. 2) Write some lore or stories to accompany your project. What characters live there if any? If there are no characters, why? What is the mood of your project? Explain in as much detail as possible to help people see your world. 3) Sketch out your pieces on paper so you can finish color mapping your project and so it stays fresh in your mind. You can draw new characters and scenery as well. 4) Create characters or scenery out of other materials to enhance your project. Whatever materials you have on hand will work. Be creative! You could sculpt skyscrapers or trees out of cardboard. Any materials can work in art. 5) Find a recipe online for paper mache or homemade clay using baking soda or other ingredients you may have. Create a replica of your sculpture or new pieces to add to it later. Paint or decorate as you like. 6) Sketch out a whole new world taking what you’ve learned and try to stretch the boundaries of your creativity! |
